Do family and friends need an account or an app?No. Anyone you share the link with can open the postbox and post their own letters, photos, videos and voice notes, recorded straight from the browser. If they can open a link, they can post. Grandparents included.
Is it private?Completely. Postboxes are unlisted, we tell search engines not to index them, and they’re visible only to people you’ve shared the link with. You can also add a postbox code for an extra layer, which family enter once per device. Private is the default, not a setting.
Who can add to it, and can I remove things?Anyone you share the link with can post. And yes: you can remove anything, at any time, and nothing needs your approval before it appears.
Do we have to keep it up for years?No. Most postboxes fill fastest in the first few weeks, when everyone wants to say hello. After that, add to it whenever a moment feels worth keeping: a first step, a funny thing they said, an ordinary Tuesday. There’s nothing to keep up.
When does my child actually get to read these?Whenever you decide they’re ready. Everything is yours to enjoy together from day one, and someday you hand over the key. Then they open the whole box themselves, oldest first, one at a time, starting from the very first days of their life.
How do we get back in if we lose the link?Press Sign in at the top of any page and type your email address. We send a magic link that signs you in on that device.
Why one payment, not a subscription?A keepsake shouldn’t have a meter running. You pay once, and nobody’s memories get switched off over a lapsed card.
Can I give one as a gift?Yes. Start the postbox in the baby’s name and we hand the keys to the parents. One gift, from you, filled by everyone who loves them.
What if my baby already has a postbox?You only need one. Everyone posts into the same postbox, so a second one isn’t needed for the same baby. If your little one is given an extra, just email us at hello@babypostbox.com and we’ll help.
Can I download the posts?Yes, all of them, whenever you like: every letter, photo, video and voice note, in one download. And if baby postbox ever closed its doors, you’d get plenty of notice and the full export first. The posts are yours, not ours.
What if something in a postbox worries me?Tell us. Every postbox has a “Report a concern” link in its About panel, which reaches us without telling anyone else in the postbox, or you can email hello@babypostbox.com about anything you’ve seen. A person reads every report, and where something breaks our terms or the law we act quickly.
Can I close a postbox?Yes, at any time, for any reason. If you’re its only administrator, you can delete it yourself from inside the postbox: open its details and choose “Delete this postbox”, which erases everything in it. If two of you look after it, or you’d rather we did it, email us at hello@babypostbox.com and we’ll delete it and stop any reminders. Either way, download a copy first if there’s anything you want to keep.
